Press Release 058 --- Urgent Press Release 03/04/06

HiBus is pleased to announce that we had been improving our services during the heavy downpour throughout Singapore to minimise service disruption to all our commuters. HiBus deployed all spare buses from all depots to help all services caught in jam and services which could not cope with the sudden passenger demands due to the heavy downpour. Spare buses are sent to interchange to aid interchange services or sent directly to affected roads to pick up stranded commuters. Other buses are used to clear breakdown as soon as possible. We are pleased to announce that all there are less than 5 breakdown throughout the 2-3 hours of heavy downpour. Frequency of services are also improved to the maximum as we can so as not to let commuters wait too long at bus-stops to prevent them from being soaked. Our depots also helped each other to work more effeciently by lending their buses to other depot service should the need arises. HiBus constantly remind Bus Captains to drive very very carefully as the visibility is very poor and HiBus constantly updates Bus Captains on traffic conditions and divert buses if there are massive jams. At the same time, HiBus contacted our umbrella supplier to sent umbrella to interchanges. Umbrella are for commuter to rent at $5 each. A ticket will be issued for each purchased so that commuters can make a refund at any interchanges in Singapore and get back the $5. Umbrella are also available for rent on every buses. HiBus thank our commuter for continuous support and will continue to work hard and minimise service disruption.
